Mahdi and collaborators at the University of Waterloo published the results of their industry-based research project on thermoforming of polycarbonate in the Journal of Manufacturing Processes. Through numerical modeling, this work offers some fundamental understanding on the interaction between polymer deformation and heat transfer processes that influence the thickness distribution in the final product.
